Research on brown corundum grains mechanical properties altering with heat-treatment processing

By means of orthogonal experiments with high-temperature tubular oven,grain roughness testing instrument,single grain compression testing instrument,brown corundum abrasive grains＇ mechanical properties such as ball-milling roughness and single grain compression strength altering situation have been investigated as the changes of sintering temperature,duration,and rate of heating up in air atmosphere.And then it has measured its toughness,single grain compression strength and analyzed its phase transformation by X-ray diffraction before and after heat treatment.It was found that the roughness and single particle crushing strength of brown corundum grains have been greatly improved after heat treatment,the best heat treatment process has obtained by analyzing the data.
