Physicochemical Properties of LF Refining Slag and Comprehensive Utilization of Slag

LF refining method is now commonly used in China, the more common species are CaO-CaF2, CaO-Al2 O3,CaO-Al2 O3-CaF2 and CaO-Al2 O3-SiO2 based refining slag. The difference between components and substances of different refining slag samples is quite different. Different ways of utilization should be explored according to this difference. The chemical composition, mineral phase composition and microstructure of refining slag are reviewed. On these bases, the ways of utilization of refining slag as resource are analyzed. Understanding the physicochemical properties and comprehensive utilization of refining slag can not only eliminate the hidden dangers in environmental protection, but also create new economic value, and realize the purpose of recycling and comprehensive treatment of refining slag.
